I’m one of those obnoxious people who have a song associated with nearly everything: first day of freshman year of highschool, first day of freshman year of college, last day of freshman year of college, my first kiss, my last kiss with my first kiss, when I hop of the plane at LAX, when I’m driving at night through Atlanta, when we sleep in late and miss everything we’re supposed to be doing… You get it. And you - no doubt - know those people. Maybe you’re one of those people.
If you are one of us, then you know that there happen to be those few songs that aren’t that specific. They’re associated with bigger things like an entire year, a whole relationship, a long, drawn out experience.
Well, this song. This song is one of those songs.
This is my End of Junior Year, beginning of summer song. It’s the song I play when I want to think about everything, the song I play when I don’t want to think about anything, the song I play when I’m driving, the song I play when I’m just sitting outside at night. It’s the song that reminds me of all the scripts I want to direct, the people I want to work with, and things yet to come (that last part was cheesy, but I meant it).
So. I’ve decided to take what videos I have, what videos my friends have, what videos I’m going to make this summer and make myself/ourselves a music video from this song…because let’s be honest, this music video could be better.
I mean, for a song so epic and so personal song, it deserves something more.
